Annulment Ministry
PURPOSE OF ANNULMENT SUPPORT MINISTRY
  • To reach out to those who have questions regarding their position in the Church after divorce.
  • To provide spiritual and emotional support inspiration through peer group interaction.
  • To assist those considering or involved in the annulment process.
WHAT IS ANNULMENT SUPPORT MINISTRY?

Annulment Support Ministry carries out the mission of the Church to reach out to all who are in pain as the result of divorce. This can be accomplished by providing an environment in which persons who are or will be involved in the annulment proceedings in the Archdiocese of Chicago can experience this healing dimensions process through:

  • Individual
  • Encouragement
  • Outreach
  • Group monthly meetings
  • Referral to further counsel when needed
  • Clarification of procedural requirements
  • Genuine spiritual support
  • Absolute confidentiality
IS ANNULMENT SUPPORT MINISTRY NECESSARY?

Yes. The Annulment Support Ministry provides a valuable complement to the judicial work of the Tribunal. It offers personal support at a time when many feel alone and lose heart during a process that can seem long and difficult.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS MINISTRY?

  • Those seeking information about annulment for themselves.
  • Anyone who has begun the process and wants to connect with others in the same situation.

HOW THIS WORKS....

If you call Our Lady of the Wayside to inquire about this ministry you will be referred to an Annulment Support Minister. These ministers are generally persons who have been through the annulment process themselves and have been trained to assist applicants as they begin the process. This person will arrange a one-on-one meeting to answer your questions, assist you in the process and provide ongoing support.

Monthly support Meetings:
We will meet on the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Place, adjacent to the Church at Our Lady of the Wayside. (The one exception will be in September, when we will meet on the second Monday because of the holiday.)

The Purposes of the Meetings are to:

  • Support you in your journey.
  • Answer your questions
  • Encourage
  • Affirm

This is the path to spiritual growth.
It is in this spiritual growth that we will find healing.
