Fifth Annual
TRULY PRICELESS GARAGE SALE
For Life-Saving Work and Disaster Relief

True service to humanity begins with respect for each and every human life.

Saturday, September 26th
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

PRICELESS

Our goods are not priced. Instead, donations are accepted to provide financial assistance to organizations serving these worthy causes. Over $7,000 has been donated in our first four years.

"This is what the Lord then said to Moses: 'Tell the Israelites to take up a collection for Me. From every man you shall accept the contribution that his heart prompts him to give Me.'"   (Exodus 25:1-2)

TRULY PRICELESS

All proceeds are donated to Catholic Charities, the American Red Cross, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Women's Center and the Pro Life Action League. Those who donate select the charities of their choice. Every cent goes directly to the charities chosen by the donor.

"…to You the helpless can entrust their cause…"
(Psalms 10:14)

$$ In God We Trust $$

We share our "treasures" with a generous spirit. The results are in the hands of God as contributions may be well above or below the values of the items "purchased."

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not; in all your ways be mindful of Him, and He will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

ANYONE CAN HELP - Families, groups of neighbors, small faith groups, parish ministries, etc. can participate in any of the following ways:

  • Offer your driveway, help set up a driveway, or work in one of the driveways in the St. James neighborhood.
  • Donate new or used goods for others to "purchase" at an affordable "price."
  • "Shop" our Truly Priceless Garage Sale. Locations will be advertised in the Daily Herald.

"…whatever you did for one of these least brothers of Mine, you did for Me."   (Matthew 25:40)

TEENS: WANT TO HELP WITH A RETREAT?
High School Youth Ministry has the awesome privilege to assist with the 7th grade Confirmation Retreat on Saturday, October 3rd from 9 am-Noon. We are looking for 10-20 high school age teens to be a part of this wonderful retreat team. Applications are online. Team members will run small groups, greet and check the students in as they arrive, as well as journey alongside the retreatants as they enter into the experience. Apps are due by this Wed, Sep 16th. A special 2 1/2 hour training (mandatory) will take place Sunday Sep 20th at 2:30 pm. What a wonderful way to serve your parish. (Service Hours available for both the training and the retreat).

NCYC: ROADTRIP
This year OLW will be participating in the unbelievably  amazing National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) from Nov. 19th-22nd. Come join over 22,000 other teens celebrating their faith. This weekend consists of the rallies, workshops, top speakers, concerts, and powerful prayer experiences. Deadline to register is technically today (Sunday), but we may be able to take registrations up until this Thursday, Sep 17th. Info/Reg packets are online.

KAIROS
Registration/Info forms are online for the next Kairos (K8) weekend which is Oct. 9th-12th. Kairos is open to high school age juniors and seniors. Deadline to register is very soon. As usual, OLW will join with St Mary (BG) and Holy Family (Inverness) for this amazing weekend.

PEER MINISTRY
Peer Ministry today (Sun) from 7-9 pm. Tonight will be all about small group community-building. And an exciting happening, the introduction of adults into the small groups.

Hopefully everyone has received their packet in the mail with a full schedule. (also, included is the NCYC info as well as the Retreat/HS Mentor information). Please mark your calendars with this month's activities: Sundays, Sept. 13th & 20th from 7-9 pm in Youth Room; Sunday, Sept. 27th from 1:30-5:30 pm at Holy Family Parish in Inverness--National Speaker, Jason Evert.

CORE

You continually amaze me. Next CORE is Sat., September 26th from 4-6 p.m.

CAMP WOW

Registration forms for the Jr. High summer camp are starting to circulate. Look for them online, at RE classes, Monday Memos, outside the YM Office and various other places around the parish.

(continued in next column?)

(Camp WOW continued)

The $55.00 deposit plus a completed reg. form gets you in the running. The first official day of registration is Oct 1st for all RE students, Veterans, & 8th graders (RE students can turn in their forms during class on the 29th). 7th graders can register on Oct. 6th with 6th graders on Oct. 8th.

Please be aware that OLW receives a fixed number of guaranteed spaces for campers. Last year these spots were filled within the first day(s) of registration. It is a first come, first served system. And while a waiting list is created and we hope for waitlisted campers to get on the official roster, there is no certainty of this. Truly, Camp WOW is a phenomenal experience.
