JOURNEYS FROM PADS TO HOPE

Journeys' PADS shelter program will be starting up again on October 1st, and we need your help.

The Amount of money Journeys spends to stabilize the homeless saves our communities thousands of dollars. When our PADS shelters open, this cost goes up appreciably.

It is estimated that $250 is needed for every PADS guest to cover food, floor pads, health services and supplies for one season.

You are a vital part of the solution.

Your contribution will enable Journeys from PADS to HOPE to continue to provide these services. We ask you to please dig deep and be as generous as you can.

Every donation helps!

Please visit our website at
www.padstohope.org
for the official donation form

or

mail your donation to

FOOD DROP OFF FOR ST. MARK'S PARISH

Please mark your calendars for the next St. Mark food collection that will be held on Sunday, October 11th  between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Please drop off items at the OLW garage. St. Mark's greatest need continues to be in the form of non-perishable food items along with baby formula, food and diapers. If students are looking for service projects, organizing a neighborhood food drive to benefit St. Mark's would be a great help!

Thanks go out to Andrew Hansen, the Patterson Family and Elizabeth Konopacki and her family for accepting donations last month. Thank you to the John Toomey Family for packing up and delivering those donations! Thank you for all of your time and efforts!

The Care and Outreach Commission is always looking for more volunteers not only with the collection of items, but
especially with delivering donations. If you would like to help please contact the Toomeys (receiving) or the Clearys (delivering).

The families at St. Mark's are truly grateful for your continued support especially at this time.

The St. Mark's Committee of
the Care & Outreach Commission

KAIROS
Please keep the Kairos teens and adults in your prayers as they prepare for their retreat which begins this Friday, Oct. 9th. Kairos is an amazing and powerful weekend. Huge respect for those giving up Homecoming to attend Kairos. Certainly it will be a time you will never forget. Teens retreatants include Dan Fino, John Koszyk, & Carol Boczar.

TEEN EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS & LECTORS
This evening we will gather for the "Update Session" at 5 p.m. in the Youth Room. All Teen Eucharistic Ministers are invited. Please note that these update sessions occur every three years and is required for all Eucharistic Ministers in the diocese. If you cannot attend the Teen Session tonight, you will need to plan on participating in one of the Oct/Nov adult sessions. (Peer Ministry gathering at 7 pm).

PEER MINISTRY
Thank you to all the PMers who attended the Jason Evert event last weekend. It really was a refreshing time. Great discussion afterward (sorry about the wet/muddy grass).

We do have Peer Ministry tonight (Sun), Oct 4th at 7 pm. Double duty for those also attending the Eucharistic/Lector Ministry Update Session beforehand.

CAMP WOW: REGISTRATION CONTINUES
So far so good. Camp WOW opened with a bang this past week as Veterans, 8th graders, and RE students were able to begin registering this past Thursday. 7th graders are set for this Tuesday, Oct 6th as well as 6th graders on Thursday, Oct 8th.

Please be aware that OLW receives a fixed number of guaranteed spaces for campers. Last year these spots were filled within the first day(s) of registration. It is a first come, first served system. And while a waiting list is created and we hope for wait listed campers to get on the official roster, there is no certainty of this. Truly, Camp WOW is a phenomenal experience. School students should turn their info in to their homeroom teacher before Religion class. RE students can drop off forms to the YM mailbox in the Parish Center.
