FOOD DROP OFF FOR ST. MARK'S PARISH

As we continue our support for the families of St. Mark's, we will be sponsoring the next food collection on Sunday, December 13th. Items may be dropped off at the OLW garage between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. St. Mark's greatest need continues to be that of nonperishable food items along with baby formula, food and diapers. As the Holidays approach your generosity would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks go out to The Mom's Plus Group for working the garage and accepting donations last month. The following individuals deserve a
huge thank you for coming forward to help with the delivery process: Bill Cleary, Calvin Gunn, Ben, Jack and Scott Marshall, Connor and John Milligan and Ryan and Michael Wolfe. Thank you for all of your time and efforts!

Please contact John Toomey at 847-398-5840 if interested in volunteering to accept donations and if you are available to deliver donations please call Bill Cleary at 847-392-7316.

Rev. Elmer Romero and the families of St. Mark are truly grateful and would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt
thank you to the parishioners of Our Lady of the Wayside for your continued support!

Sincerely,
The St. Mark's Committee of
the Care & Outreach Commission

SOCIETY OF
ST. VINCENT DEPAUL REFLECTION

In today's Gospel John the Baptist urges us to "Prepare the way of the Lord," and this is what Advent is all about. We are called to help prepare the way of the Lord by making the real meaning of Christmas come alive in our own hearts, in our family and to reach out to those in need.

Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help the suffering and poor to celebrate Christmas.

May God Bless All of You
      Father Ed

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES

The parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago received notification from Cardinal George that the earliest acceptable time for Masses on Christmas Eve 2009 would be 3:00 p.m.

While the Cardinal did acknowledge that the decision to have an earlier Mass was understandable, he believes that the early Mass did not preserve the integrity of the Feast of Christmas. In obedience to the Cardinal, and in solidarity with the pastors of Arlington Heights, the early Christmas Eve Mass has been eliminated.
